“SOUNDS OF MUSIC” IN MOSCOW!

Following the smashing success of the “Zorro” musical, “Stage Entertainment” company announces a Russian production of the West-End and Broadway classic “Sounds of Music”. The magnificent love story favored by several generations of the audience, has been staged in 23 countries of the world and was visited by over 45 million people in total. The same-name movie starring Julie Andrews was awarded with five “Oscars”, two “Golden Globes” and eight “Tonies”.
Sent from the monastery to the family of captain George von Trapp, Maria – brave, kind and sincere - manages to unite the family and find her true love. But she and captain von Trapp will have to go through betrayal and the great war before finally uniting to be together…
The Russian production of the “Sounds of Music” will be created exclusively by Russian team. This is an unprecedented decision in the world’s musical theatre with its strict control over the license productions.  The show will be directed by Evgeniy Pisarev, who used to work with Declan Donnelan, stage sets are to be created by Bolshoy and Mariinsky theatres’ designer Zinoviy Margolin. And the musical score will include two new songs, written by Richard Rogers for the movie: Maria and Georg von Trapp’s love duet "Something Good" and Maria’s aria "I Have Confidence".

In the past six years “Stage Entertainment” has produced shows like “Beauty and the Beast”, “Cats”, “Mamma Mia!”, “Zorro”, ice-shows “The Nutcracker” and the “Snow queen”.
